Sunday Dinner

So, as I was putting my makeup on this morning, I was watching Triple-D (btw, Food Network is always on) and saw a recipe for baked chicken.  Simple recipe, but a combination of ingredient’s I’ve never tried before until today.

Ingredients:

  • 5 Chicken thighs with skin attached
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 2 tbsps Brown sugar
  • 1 tbps Paprika
  • 1 tbsps Cayenne Pepper
  • 2 tbsps butter, melted

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.  Line a baking sheet with foil.

Trim excess fat from chicken thighs.  Carefully separate skin from meat, but not completely, keep a hinge like a book.

Pull back skin and sprinkle spices directly on skin.

Pull skin back onto meat and pour melted butter on chicken skin.

Sprinkle the rest of the spices all over the buttered chicken.

Pour a shallow layer of water all around the chicken, so to give it moister as it bakes.

Tightly cover baking sheet with foil.

Put in oven for 1 hour.

Remove foil cover and raise temperature to 400 degrees to brown and crisp skin for 15 minutes.

Remove out of oven.  Let cool.

Me being Filipino, my natural instinct is to eat this with rice.  But my American Fiancé wants to eat this with pasta and marinara sauce.
